Neo-humanism, the philosophy of love for all creation
Neo-humanism is a philosophy developed by P.R. Sarkar which constitutes the basis or platform of PROUT. It is based on the concept of love for all creation. It expands the idea of simple humanism to include love for plants and animals. It transcends the boundaries of geo and socio sentiments, that are concerned with territories and societies only.
According to Neo-humanism, love for all creation forms the basis of education and all-round development. It is with such an outlook in life that dogmas and other -isms such as nationalism, racism etc. can be overcome and outrooted. It is a tool for fighting exploitation in all fields of life.
How is Neo-humanism related to spirituality? P.R. Sarkar describes three aspects of spirituality that will help to establish Neo-humanism:
- Spirituality as a cult (this includes the practice of meditation in individual life, elevating the material stand of living of people as well as the development of art and science for service and blessedness)
- Spirituality in essence (this includes creating collective psychic flows and ideas that will affect society as a whole in benevolent, spirituality-oriented ways)
- Spirituality as a mission (this relates to spiritual realization gained in the collective sphere of life, affecting also the plant and animal worlds)
