The need for meditation
Meditation is often regarded as something esoteric and bizzare. Yet, if done properly, it is a most natural practice that can be compared to taking or having a bath for the mind.
Most people take or have a bath every day. And one may feel uncomfortable when missing a bath for whatever reason.
Meditation is the practice of cleansing one's mind and making it pure and fresh. It is a source of inspiration and joy.
In meditation one dives deep into unknown layers of the mind, and eventually transcends the world of intellect to merge into a flow of intuition and bliss.
During meditation one may become confronted with feelings and memories from the past which lie hidden in a corner of our mind. When, through meditation, these impressions appear and again fade away, one experiences a feeling of relief and lightness.
Meditation is a practice to make the mind one pointed and sharp and at the same time sweet and bright. It is a very ancient and scientific practice that dates back to over 10,000 years. Althoug meditation often has religious connotations, it is a practice developped well before the advent of religion on this earth. It is a natural practice for all, just as having one's daily bath is.
Human beings are physico-psycho-spiritual beings, and to develop the spiritual side of oneself should not be forgotten. Meditation is indeed an important aspect on the path of progressive utilisation in life that must not be neglected.
