PROUT
the Progressive Utilisation Theory
Not everyone may be aware of exploitation. People get used to and adjust to living conditions and a certain standart of living. Yet, exploitation is evident by a number of facts and examples that are listed below.
Exploitation is the cause of poverty and misery. It undermines the vital energy of people and makes one subservient to those with power.
The world has the capacity of feeding many times more than the present population of the world. It has the capacity of bringing bliss and happiness into everyone's lives. Yet, due to exploitation it is at a stage far behind that it ought to have been at.
- Economic exploitation (when people get paid less than they deserve, the selling of products at inflated prices, for example as a result of monopoly power; when this leads to people not being able aquire the basic necessities of life, i.e. housing, medical treatment, education and clothing, and go to bed hungry, suffer and die from potentially easily cured illnesses, have no roof on themselves, look poorly, thereby being treated disrespectfully and stay illiterate and intellectually backward)
- Psychic exploitation (the creation of artificial demands for products people don't need; using popular sentiments or culture to trick people into buying useless products and supporting wrong ideas, especially of politicians; also suppression of a country's culture, language, religion etc.)
- Drainage of natural resources and wealth (the control of one country's natural resourse by another country or another country's company)
- Accumulation and hoarding of money (money lying idle, as if dead, in the bank accounts of rich people, much needed investment capital and capital for service projects is withheld)
- Other obvious forms of exploitation such as slavery (i.e. Africa's blood dimonds), child labour (especially in countries like India, Bangladesh), forced prostitution (Thailand)
- The desctruction of natual habitat for profit making (rainforests, water resrouces, air pollution)
- The torture and slaughter of our neighbour animals to fill the stomach of humans (the more animal farms run like machines, the more profit is made)
- Arms and drug traffic where governemts, secret services, mafia and guerilla groups work together to weaken and destroy innocent populations
- Various aspects of women exploitation in the fields of marriage, sex trade, labour, wage inequality, political discrimination etc.
Money and Power
Exploitation is usually carried out by those who possess money and power. The total amount of money in the world is estimated at ..... and continuously keeps rising as a result of increased workal productivity and new technology.
It is a fact that the richest ...% people in the world, possses ...% of the money in the world.
The vast majority, ...% of the world's population, only posses ...% of the amount of money in the world.
But even those with money, may not always be able to use that money benevolently. Corrupt governments, secret service agencies, criminal groups, military officials or even avidya tantrics (black magicians) can and do impose threats on them, either by directly threatening their lives, or indirectly by threatening to harm those who they love, family and friends.
According to P.R. Sarkar, those who control the world are only a handful in number, who do not deserve to be called humans, but actually are demons in human form.
So what is the way out?
A collective revolution is necessary. Individuals alone cannot bring about changes. A collective effort based on common ideals is needed to bring about lasting bliss and happiness to all living beings on this world.
PROUT, the Progressive Utilisation Theory, has been designed with such an end in view.
